Marketing knowledge to support road safety methods and tools to improve road user behaviour

 

The 15th ASECAP Road Safety Day and the 10th ASECAP Marketing and Communications Event will take place on 21-22 March 2023 in Salzburg and will be hosted by ASFINAG.

On the occasion of the COP27 taking place in Egypt, ASECAP, and other organisations representing the road sector, namely the International Road Federation (IRF), the European Union Road Federation (ERF), ERTICO and ITA-AITES, have released a joint statement set to restate their firm commitment to effectively reduce CO2 emissions to net-zero by 2050 in line with the Paris Agreement.

Achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals depends on efficient multi-modal transport systems and services where roads play a central role. Effective road transport, road networks, tunnels and bridges, and the associated services are thus essential to ensure the sustainable mobility of people and goods and to ensure nobody is left behind.

The road sector has already undertaken enormous efforts to significantly reduce its environmental footprint while ensuring business continuity. The road sector stakeholders are committed and ready to do its part, but they cannot do it alone. They therefore call on all parties to join them to now act with pragmatism, ensure a just transition, and embrace innovation. To do this, they have drawn up a list of actions that must be carried out.
